Butterfly Conservation Charity Posters

Uni project 'Endangered Species.' The brief was to come up with 4 posters on an endangered species and I found the 'Butterfly conservation' charity online and designed posters for 4 of their appeals.
These posters are based on moth and butterfly wing patterns. The backgrounds are monoprints and scanned paint textures and the lettering and their logo are all hand-drawn.

Mill Road Winter Fair

I couldn't hang around as I had a society event running in the afternoon, but I thought our stall at the Mill Road Winter Fair looked awesome so I thought I'd put up one of the photos I took:

Xmas Cards for Winter Fair

The third years on my course traditionally have a stall selling our own creations at the Mill Road Winter fair in Cambridge. Alongside the zine image I've already posted, I designed three Christmas cards which will be sold on the stall.

Mill Road Zine

I'm in my final year if my Illustration BA now and it's traditional for 3rd years to have a stall at the Mill Road Winter Fair in order to raise funds for the final year degree show. A couple of guys in my class are putting together a zine of peoples work with a Cambridge theme. I've got so much to do at the moment that I didn't have time to draw something entirely new so I cobbled this together using some sketchbook drawings from the zoology museum and a post-it note. Hopefully it looks pretty good! :3

Victory Documented!

A friend of mine is a 3rd year photography student and as a return favour he helped me out by taking some product photos of my V for Victory album for my portfolio (please excuse my bad cut-and-pasting on the last one!). Now you can see what the finished product looks like rather than just the pre-printed imagery.

This is a commission I've just finished for the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge. They gave me the text and asked me to design a black and white trail map booklet for them.

I've re-worked this first image so it fits in better with the others. Before it was quite a lot simpler but I felt it needed the shadows and a more watery element.

ARAMS logo

I'm the secretary of Anglia Ruskin Anime and Manga Society and I've spent most of this afternoon trying to design a simple logo for us. Haven't finalized anything yet but here's some ideas. They are all drawn by hand then scanned for touch-ups and colour alteration.

This is the only print from the Narrative Printmaking module i did that i actually like! (bit of a waste of a module for me I'm afraid. Why i didn't take Drawing Studies instead I'll never know!)

The Owl and the Warbler

I'm meant to be entering the Cheltenham Illustration Award but I've been distracted trying to get my work organized for hand-in and I'm not sure I'll be able to get it done in time. Anyway, these are drawings of warbler and owl characters for the idea i have for my entry - a little story about an owl following his warbler friend on migration to get away from the rain!

...although I'm now tempted to add text to it. At least if i decide to enter it in the McMillan next year.

Tree

This is a reworked image previously showing the little girl looking up at the tree. The perspective was very screwed up and i didn't like the composition so i came up with this instead.
